We have two sections within our Cabaret Troupes, our Juniors who are just learning the art of working well as a team to the more experienced girls who are known as The CJ's Dancers.
Cabaret Troupe is a lesson based on strong technique and performance ability. The Cabaret troupe lesson consists of some of the strongest dancers within the school. Within these sessions students work on dance routines of variating styles which are used for local displays, London Shows, competitions and any other events which CJ’s Dance and Fitness are involved with.
Troupe lessons help develop a professional sense of performance within the students and help them work on their confidence and group skills. The lessons rely highly on all students working together as a team to get the best results from their performance. They help dancers, learn more about and experience, what life as a dancer would be like in the professional world. It develops the skills and motivation needed to succeed in the dance industry.
Within the sessions the students work on their fitness, technique, flexibility, performance, differentiation within styles, team work and confidence skills. In the lessons the students work on several dance routines which all differ in style to help build up a wide dance repertoire. Troupe members are expected to have dedication and commitment beyond that of regular dance members in order to achieve their maximum potential.
Many of the troupe go on to study dance as a career thus, the experiences they gain while with CJ’s give them a strong foundation for their future.
Cabaret troupe lessons are by invitation only but we are always on the look out for new members so, if you think you may have the necessary skills give us a call. We accept dancers from seven years in our Junior Troupe, to twenty one years in The CJ's Dancers.
Achievements include; being placed third in two consecutive UK Troupe Challenges at The Sadlers Wells Theatre; performing at The Royal Albert Hall and Her Majesty’s Theatre on numerous occasions; dancing in Disneyland Paris; entertaining cruise ship guests and VIPs on the launch of The Carnival Splendour and being selected for displays locally to represent the town.
All Junior Troupe members and The CJ's Dancers have to participate in other classes within the school in order to have a broad range of dance technique from which they can utilise.
