15 Trophies for CJs Cheerleaders PDF Print E-mail

Eighty cheerleaders from four years old to adults have just returned from Eastbourne where they took part in the Southern Classic Cheer Competition organised by the British Cheerleading Association.

Judges from America, Ireland and the UK were very impressed with the standards throughout the weekend as cheerleaders from all over the UK competed to win the coveted trophies.

CJs entries comprised of Solo’s, Duet’s, Trio’s, Cheer Squads and on the Sunday Dance Squads.

Overall they came home with an impressive collection of 15 trophies including seven 1st places, three 2nd places, four 3rd’s and one 4th.

The Tiny Squad stole many people’s hearts, just four and five years old and performing in a National Competition and winning two of the 1st place awards. Meanwhile the adult Stunt Squad also raised the roof with their performance and gained another 1st.

Carol Jenkins, Head Coach praised all coaches for their time and effort in choreographing routines and helping to make the day run really smoothly. She said, ‘With eighty competitors all coaches had to work flat out to ensure everyone was ready for their entry, so I would like to say a huge thank you to all people who helped. The children were fantastic on both days but the highlight of the weekend was most definitely the Sunday when CJ’s raised the roof with their routines and were awarded with three 1st places and one 3rd. There was not a dry eye in the house.

All cheerleaders from every squad had worked really hard in the months leading up to the competition and they certainly did Dover proud. Well done to all cheerleaders who represented Dover in Eastbourne, we must be the cheer capital of Kent!!’
