Nearly eighty cheerleaders from four years to adults travelled to Eastbourne to take part in the Southern Classic Competition. Judges from USA, Ireland and the UK judged the squads on their showmanship, team spirit, technique, stunts, and choreography.
A great weekend was had by all who attended with the highlight being on the Sunday when CJs ‘stole the day,’ with their routines.
By the end of the weekend an impressive 15 trophies had been won by the cheerleaders, much to the great excitement of the Tiny Squad who had performed for the first time in a competition and couldn’t believe it when they came home with two first place trophies almost as big as them.

All coaches had worked really hard on the routines over the preceding months and their efforts really paid off. Carol, Head Coach would like to thank all coaches for the many hours they spent rehearsing the teams and also a big thank you to all the parents who helped on the day with make up, hair etc…….Well done again to everyone!!!!

Sixty Cheerleaders, from six to seventeen years competed in The Southern Classic, a National competition held at The Brighton Centre, organised by The British Cheerleading Association. Squads from all over the UK tumbled, cheered and tossed their flyers hoping to earn one of the coveted trophies.
After two days of competing the squads from CJ's had impressed the judges enough to earn an amazing seven trophies, three 1st places, one 2nd and three 3rd places. The atmosphere in the Brighton Centre was electric and everyone rose to the challenge and most certainly performed their best. A fantastic time was had by all and the hard work and extra rehearsals definitely paid off. To come away with so many trophies was the icing on the cake.

October 2008 - 3rd Place Senior Challenge
Mardi Gras Challenge - The Sadlers Wells Theatre London
|
 |
This was the second time the Senior Cabaret Troupe have been awarded a place at this competition. Held at The Sadlers Wells Theatre in London, thirty junior and senior dance teams battle it out for a chance to placed in the top three dance troupes in the country.
The standard, as before, was extremely high but CJ’s pupils, who had practised for many months for the event really put on a spectacular performance to earn their third place. Their routine was to “Carnival De Paris,” and incorporated many dance styles thus enhancing the entertainment value.
|
The Junior Cabaret Troupe also performed their routine to “Mission Impossible.”
They were very proud of having the opportunity to dance in the Junior Finals and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of dancing alongside the other top thirty troupes of the UK.

Judges included top West End Actors, Disney directors and Bonnie Langford. Well Done to All!

October 2006 - 3rd Place Senior Challenge
Mardi Gras Challenge - The Sadlers Wells Theatre London
|
|
|
Dancers from the school travelled to this fantastic venue known as …The Home of Dance….to take part in the Senior Mardi Gras Challenge. In front of top judges they performed their routine to “Masquerade.” The hard work they had put into the rehearsals certainly paid off and they were awarded 3rd Place. The troupe received a trophy and £500 to spend. The atmosphere was fantastic and all troupes supported and encouraged each other whether winners or not. To have the opportunity to dance on such an amazing stage makes everyone a winner but to then be awarded a 3rd made the day even more special. Great Work Everyone!
