Carol Jenkins - PrincipalB.Ed.(Hons) / NNEB / BTDA Reg Teacher / Accredited Master Cheerleading Coach NCSSE / BTS BodyJam Instructor / First Aid Instructor Carol has now been teaching for 27 years. On leaving University she worked in primary education for six years before deciding to leave and open CJ’s. During her years she has accumulated a vast array of knowledge in the teaching field including dance forms from Ballet to Ballroom and Cabaret to Street. She continually updates her expertise by attending courses and workshops in dance, cheerleading, nutrition, first aid and core stability. She has provided the opportunity for many pupils to dance in prestigious venues in London and abroad, via the Mardi Gras Team and thus give them an insight into the professional dance world. The experiences proving invaluable as, a high percentage of CJ’s senior pupils now go on to pursue dance when leaving secondary education. With many years of experience behind her Carol is now committed to helping train the teachers of tomorrow both within the school and in state education. As a teacher Carol’s philosophy is that you never stop learning yourself, every pupil is different and so is every lesson, new trends and ideas are forever emerging and it is every teacher’s responsibility to embrace the forever changing world of the Performing Arts. Carol teaches Ballet, Tap, the majority of the Tiny Movers classes and is the Head Cheer Coach. Sarah McLoughlinBTDA Reg Teacher / Master Cheer Coach NCSSE Sarah has been working at CJ's for 12 years. She holds a Certificate in Dance Teaching in which she gained a Distinction and also is a Master Cheer Coach with the BCA. She currently teaches Modern Jazz and Lyrical within the school with her pupils gaining outstanding results complimenting the very high standard achieved at CJ's. Sarah also works with the Mini Cheer Squad alongside Carol. She has a young daughter who attends the school and is a naturally gifted performer. Teighlor McGeehanMaster Cheer Coach NCSSE Teighlor has danced at CJ's since she was very young and progressed through the grades in many dance disciplines. She now focuses on cheerleading and Troupe work teaching the senior girls, who all have a great respect for her, she goes that extra mile by organising additional activities for the girls she teaches so CJ's is not only a dance school to them but also a great place to socialise and meet new friends. She is currently continuing her studies at university where she is studying Sports Science but returns to CJ's at the weekend to teach. Louise HunterNational Award in Performing Arts (Dance)(BTec Level 3) Louise has been a member of CJ's since she was 2 years old. After leaving school she studied dance at college gaining a Distinction in her qualification and now is back teaching the younger children and also working towards her cheer coaches certificate. Louise has a real love for teaching and her enthusiasm brings out the best in everyone she instructs. Kirsty InnesKirsty danced at CJ's from a very young child then on leaving school studied dance for 3 years at Middlesex University. She is fresh out of uni and bursting with new ideas particularly in contemporary and adult fitness. Yasmin FarmerYasmin has recently completed a Dance Leaders course and currently runs the Junior Contempoary class. She is keen to learn and develop her teaching skills and is a great addition to the school. |
